Custom social icons: a guide

There are countless examples of customised social icons throughout the web. It sure does look lovely when a design is complimented by custom icons, showing a deep commitment to branding on every level.

But are these amendments legal?

The short answer is no. Technically these brands have only given their permission to allow their copyrighted icons to be displayed under strict guidelines.

The best way to ensure you are adhering to the guidelines is to download and use the original icon from each site.
