AWS Technical Essentials Day

Amazon provide many free training webinars and self-paced online courses to help introduce people to their Web Services.

AWS Technical Essentials Day

I was lucky enough to join a Technical Essentials Day on Monday - following on from the Discovery Day I attended virtually on Friday.

History of Amazon Web Services

This session was taken by the amazing Ashish Prajapati who was absolutely excellent at explaining lots of concepts of cloud computing and the way some of AWS works. I would really recommend signing up to this if you plan to use AWS in the future. Sometimes the concepts of computing can feel really abstract and can be difficult to visualise and understand. Having somebody, who is clearly a good teacher with patience and ability, was super helpful in consolidating my knowledge.

AWS Platform Services

It also gives me more confidence to play around with the services on offer. I think there's definitely a fear of the complete unknown. Even a small amount of knowledge can give you the tools to get started. Even an introduction to the AWS Management Console was helpful. We also went through security measures, which Amazon obviously take very seriously.

If you want to take this free course, you can find an event here.
